Long / Short Ratio

The ratio of long-positioned accounts to short-positioned accounts on a perpetual contract.

When the long/short ratio is heavily skewed (e.g., 70% long), the market is positioned one-sidedly. Skewed positioning is often a contrarian indicator — it identifies the side with the most exposure to liquidation.

Binance reports this ratio for top-trader accounts and for all accounts separately. The top-trader version is more meaningful for spotting smart-money positioning.
