Moving Average (MA)
Smoothed trend line computed as the average price over a rolling window.
Simple Moving Average (SMA) is the arithmetic mean of the last N closes. Exponential Moving Average (EMA) weights recent closes more heavily, making it more responsive.
MA crossovers — when a short MA crosses above or below a long MA — are a classic trend-following signal. A 9 EMA crossing a 21 EMA on the 4-hour timeframe is a common short-term setup; the 50/200 daily cross is the long-term "golden cross" / "death cross".
